8-week Mountain Biking Strength Programme
Develop the leg strength, upper body strength, power and stability for the dynamic demands of modern riding
An 8 week strength training programme for mountain bikers of any level or discipline.
Suitable for people who consider themselves beginners or intermediates in the gym, or for those who haven’t strength-trained in over 6 months.
Two 60-75 minute gym-based sessions per week.
Intensity, volume and exercises are developed over the 8 weeks to ensure training is progressive and engaging.
Sessions are initially scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, but you can adjust week-on-week.
The plan requires access to a typical basic gym with:
- A barbell, squat rack and weight plates
- Dumbbells and/or kettlebells
- Resistance bands and an exercise mat.
There are no resistance machines required for this plan.
